It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to fellow club member Eric Kamp. Shortly after showing his dog "Jackson" to Winners Dog and Best of Winners at the Springfield MA. show on Nov. 26, 2006, Eric suffered a fatal heart attack. Eric owner handled "Zach" Ch Cabochon Middle of the Night CD, a very spirited boy, to his championship title and CD. He was in the process of working on his newest addition "Jackson", K'Mander Just Before the Deluge's, championship title at the time of his untimely passing. Eric was a good friend to many of us and we will miss him and his sense of humor. Please keep his wife Ellen and the boys in your thoughts and prayers.

2008 Brags Donna Sickles and Larry Zimic report; 2008 has kicked off to a great start. Bramble began the year on the Florida Classic Circuit with two BOB wins under Terry Stacy and Dr. Bernard McGivern as well as BOS under Polly Smith. He hopes to take some time off from the show ring to work on a CD. Knight earned a Best Puppy in Sweeps at the February Sporting Dog show. He plans to campaign hard to earn his other major and the rest of his CH points. Starr will be showing up more frequently as a special this year so he can get as many treats as the other guys are getting

Obedience: Highest Scoring: Hob-B's Quest for Adventure from Open B with a 195, T Walker 2007 Brags; Donna Sickles and Larry Zimic's 2007 wrap up! Bramble (CH Quillquest Iron in the Fire) started off the year with his AOM at Westminster and ended with him ranking 14 in AKC Top Dogs Breed Totals. He had 15 BOB wins under notable judges like Edd Bivin and Karin Ashe. Bramble's son, Knight (Meadowrue Knight of Quillquest), earned a Reserve to a major and 4 points toward his CH including a 3 point major within his first three shows. Knight also won Best Puppy in Sweeps at the Sporting Dog Shows in September 2007 and BOS Puppy in Sweeps at the Back Mountain Supported Entry. Their housemate, Starr (CH Quillquest's Living Legend), did not want to be out done, so he took a BOB at the Bronx KC show in October and went on to a Group 2 win.
Margaret and Terry Uminsky and "Crystal" got their first Novice Jumpers leg with a first place on 11/ 4 at the Staten Island Companion Dog Training Club agility trials! At the Thanksgiving Cluster in W. Springfield MA Logan got the last two legs for his Rally Novice title and is now Ch K'Mander Island Runner *RN* CGC; Crystal qualified twice in both her Novice Standard and Novice Jumpers runs and finished her NAJ title all clean runs with two second place finishes! She is now TLC Starlite's First Gleaming CD RA *NAJ* RL1 CGC with two NA legs; and Lylah is now Islandflats American Pie *CGC* getting her CGC certification!
Patty Johnstone & "Echo" *CH* Shasta's Espresso To Go finished her CH at the Ramapo KC show on 10/14 by going WB/BW and BOS! She also won WB/BOW and BOS the day before at the Palisades KC show! Valerie Bernhardt & "Ross" *CH* Meadowrue Original Dance finished his CH at the Ramapo KC show by going Winners Dog on 10/14! Margaret & Terri Uminsky & "Crystal "finished her APDT RL1 with a 3rd place on 10/14! Terri Piecara and "Peach" Shasta's Summer Harvest finished their RN with a 97 and a 1st place at the Gloucester County shows 10/19/07. Susan Figlar and "Ozzie" ( Beacon’s Kittatinny Wiz UD RE WC ) completed his UD at Somerset Hills KC. He completed his title in four shows. Two firsts and a fourth. Plus a backup first place at Pocono. Terry Walker and "Buzz" (U-CDX Ch. Whitland Hy Voltage UD, RE, OA, OAJ) placed 2nd with a 195 1/2 in Veterans
obedience at Morris Hills. In spite of jumping
up and grabbing my arm before the end of every exercise. Still a wild man
at 10 1/2 (just the way we like it).The weekend of 9/15/07 "Quest" (Hob-B's Quest for Adventure CDX, RA, SJ) got the
chance to "fly" at the Cabela's DockDog event. We finished 10th for the
weekend. Patty Johnstone & "Echo" (Shasta's Espresso To Go ) earned another 2 points at the Berks County KC show by going WB 9/16/07! Janet Mines Krings and "Hero" FINALLY earned his CD at the Newton KC show on Aug 31. He is now Marquis Arthurian King, CD, RA, JH, WC, Therapy Dog Donna Sickles' " Bramble" CH Quillquest Iron In The Fire went BOB at Newton KC on Friday and Saturday and BOS at Sussex Hills and Schooley's Mountain on Sunday and Monday. "Knight" surprised us with a Reserve to a Major on Saturday and really delighted us with a 3 point major on Sunday. Noreen Parson's "Java" (Reblar Joe Two Go) was Best Buppy in Sweeps in NEFCRC supported entry at Springfield MA Kris Main and "Scout" earned both her majors in July 2007 in VT then went on to win WB the weekend of 9/7 all three days she was entered at the North Branch,
NJ shows (5 points to go!). Labor day weekend she went WB/BW 2 days
and BOS three days for 7 points in Canada (3 points to go!).
"Ghost" earned his CDX in Canada labor day weekend (three first
placements to get his three legs - albeit it was spread between 2006
and 2007) Valerie Bernhardt and "Rip" earned his rally excellent title from excellent A with two firsts and a third. Anne earned her rally advanced title with a 4th and Ross got a 3 point major and another 2 points. Rip also earned his first open jumpers leg with a third place at the Monticello agility trial.
Patty Johnstone and "Echo" Shasta's Espresso To Go earned a 3 pt major by going W/BW at the Sussex Hills KC 9/2/07 and then went on to earn 2 more pts. the next day again by going W/BW at the Schooley's Mtn KC show! Patty Johnstone and "Echo" Shasta's Espresso To Go earned 2 pt's by going W at the Hunterdon Hills KC 9/2/07! Terry and Margaret Uminsky's Bailey, is now K'mander's GoodFella Bailey *RA* CGC and Crystal is now TLC Starlite's First Gleaming CD *RA* CGC. Both getting their Rally Advanced titles in West Springfield MA on July 6th and 7th. Also on July 7th, Lylah, Islandflats American Pie got her first Rally Novice Leg. Then on Sunday, July 15th, 2007, Logan became *CH* K'Mander Island Runner CGC getting his final points towards his CH at the Twin Brooks Kennel Club in Morristown, NJ!

Patty Johnstone and "Echo" Shasta's Espresso To Go won Best Puppy in Sweeps AND Reserve Winners Bitch on 2/8/2007 at the Sporting Dog Society Show! Lauren Weidner and "Tara" CH Riversong Rainbow's Dream VCD2 JH AX MXJ UD WCX Can. CD WC earned her MAJ 7/ 9/06 and her UD 9/ 2/06 in only six tries w/all 1st places, one of them at the 2006 FCRSA Specialty! This qualified her for the FCRSA Hall of Fame at three years old! Two weeks later, she passed her Working Certificate Excellent at the Potomac Valley Golden Retriever Club!
